Sparkasse Bank Directorate Leonberg, Germany

At the edge of Leonberg’s historic old town, a new building for the regional Sparkasse Bank Directorate has been created, bringing together a sense of identity, elegant simplicity and an open, welcoming interior.

Entering the Sparkasse directorate, a generous two-storey space unfolds, revealing the bright and calm atmosphere of the building. The new building, designed by the Stuttgart-based architecture firm Auer Weber, leads into a central space with a circular reception area, which is accompanied by a surrounding gallery that lends the room a clear and welcoming structure. Light, almost white surfaces create a restrained atmosphere reminiscent of the quiet character of contemporary art museums. The space is complemented by seating in natural tones and with clear silhouettes. Within this open spatial composition, a pleasant sense of arrival emerges for employees and visitors alike.

Open areas for dialogue and interaction

The office floors on the upper levels are defined by openness and support interaction. Between zones for focused activity, spaces emerge for brief exchanges and informal dialogue. Seating such as the Sheru Lounge Chair and the Muud Lite Sofa offer subtle places for coming together. Light surfaces define the overall impression, while cherrywood accents in tea points and communication areas add a warm note. The combination of clarity and refined material transitions creates a working environment that feels structured while still allowing for moments of interaction.

Courtyard rooms with a bright atmosphere

Along the light-filled courtyard, additional areas open up, defined by generous glazing that brings a bright and welcoming atmosphere into the space. These zones offer opportunities for conversation, consultation or a quiet pause during the working day. The 369 Armchairs introduce subtle colour accents through their textile upholstery, adding a familiar and approachable note to the setting. In this way, a place emerges that supports both calm and exchange, making the courtyard perceptible as a central element of the building.
