A tribute to the beauty of Africa’s natural treasures
Minerals, crystals and precious stones have evolved in the depths of the Earth over millions of years. These natural works of art reflect and absorb light in a unique way. These fascinating precious objects are the inspiration behind our silk carpets. Each stone has a special significance. Every carpet is given a name in Swahili, a language that connects many countries in Africa.
Quality
The Silk carpets are made from the very best Chinese silk, taken from the cocoons of the silkworm moth. With its wonderful shimmer and soft-to-the-touch feel, the fine fabric fiber shapes carpet pictures of incomparable harmony and elegance.
Color
The carpets have a particularly high color complexity of up to 80 colors. Each color is used in different combinations of materials, thus creating hundreds of color shades that flow into each other.
Touch and feel
The silk carpets live from the changing incidence of light. The brilliance of the yarn floats over the floor like a breeze. Running your hand over the pile intensifies the interplay of light and shade. The shining yarn reflects and breaks the beam of light, and makes these hand-knotted pieces shimmer differently from every angle. The depth and magic of the material become alive.

The Walter K. carpets were created together with fabric designer Helmut Scheufele, inspired by the landscapes and colors of Africa. They take their strength from the source of creativity of that continent – translated into timeless knotted works of art.
