Brookfield Place, Perth, Australia

Brookfield Tower, a long-standing anchor in Perth’s skyline, introduces a newly redesigned lobby shaped by an open, light-filled architectural approach with a refined urban character.

What was once a dormant inner-city site with unused heritage buildings has now evolved into a vibrant precinct for retail and dining. Its laneways, restaurants and publicly accessible ground-floor areas now blend naturally into the urban fabric. Brookfield Place in the heart of Perth has thus become a new hospitality hotspot.

Modern Urban Hospitality

While the building continues to express a clear and refined architectural language, the lobby has been comprehensively reimagined by Australian practice Hassell Studio. Its impressive scale now unfolds through a palette of elegant materials that brings a tangible sense of consideration and care to the space. The redesign creates an open and welcoming arrival experience and strengthens the connection between this distinctive interior and the people who move through it each day.

Project partner Living Edge, a leading Australian specialist retail partner for high-quality furnishing solutions, selected pieces from Walter K. for the lobby. The models define the space across different areas and continue the architectural quality of the interior in a coherent way. Lounge sofas with clear lines, as well as organically shaped seating landscapes, create islands of comfort that make the sense of arrival in the space tangible.

Inviting Elegance

The tall, light-filled space feels anything but cold despite its polished metal columns. Warm, earthy tones in the furniture and flooring provide a soft counterbalance to the reflective architecture. Clustered seating zones divide the generous volume into calmer areas. The Tama Living Sofa, with its gentle curves and generous proportions, introduces an understated sense of luxury and invites people to linger. Beneath the full-height art installation with gold accents, a lounge area emerges that gains a quiet, sensory atmosphere through its materiality and form.

The sophisticated, comfortable zones are now actively occupied throughout the day, offering spaces for people to meet, wait, converse, work, touchdown or take a break.

Foster 620 Bench

Design in Dialogue with Place

At Brookfield Place, comfort for a range of situations and needs is placed clearly at the forefront. The design responds not only to functional requirements but also thoughtfully reflects the character of the site. Along the soft beige contours of the 620 Foster Benches, the winding course of the nearby Swan River finds a subtle translation within the space. The result is an area that resonates not only internally but also expresses a sense of consideration toward its urban surroundings.
