Fielmann Head Office, Hamburg, Germany
With the Social Heart, the new Fielmann Head Office in Hamburg introduces a central place for informal interaction and exchange among employees.

The new Head Office in northern Hamburg reflects the cultural shift of the Fielmann Group. The family-owned company, active in optics and hearing care, has evolved in recent years from a hierarchically structured to a modern, collaborative workplace culture. The architecture responds to this shift and creates an environment that supports interaction, exchange, and collaboration across teams. At the heart of the new Head Office is the “Social Heart” – the building’s central meeting place.

The Social Heart is a generous area for lunch, coffee, and informal conversations. Additional lounge and co-working zones, referred to as Joint Spaces, support exchange and collaboration, follow the principles of Activity-Based Working, and expand the spatial possibilities.
Colors and materials draw from the surrounding context. Terracotta refers to the city’s brick architecture, while shades of blue reflect the sky above Hamburg. Light surfaces and generous daylight give the space a calm and open atmosphere.

The interior concept for the new Head Office was developed in close coordination with CBRE, an international advisory firm specializing in real estate and workplace environments, which supported the planning and design of the interior architecture. In collaboration with retail partners from Hamburg, the project also included consulting, material sampling, as well as the selection and coordination of the furnishings.
