Apartment 376 Albert Street, Melbourne, Australia
Shaped by the context of the city. An apartment in East Melbourne overlooking the Fitzroy Gardens.

Located in East Melbourne, this apartment opens out to the greenery of the Fitzroy Gardens and the distinctive city skyline. The interior was developed by Australian design studio Dasch Associates in response to the urban context. Colours, materials and surfaces draw from the surrounding roofscapes and the urban silhouette, which become part of the living space through full-height windows. In collaboration with project partner Living Edge, furniture by Walter K. was selected to shape the rooms and establish a clear, understated structure.

Dining with the City in View
The open dining area is set along the generous window front, looking out towards the silhouette of St Patrick’s Cathedral. Here, the Andoo Table in solid walnut and Saddle Chairs in clay-coloured leather create an inviting place for gathering, oriented towards the view outside. At the opposite kitchen island, Saddle Barstools pick up the same material tone. A finely balanced dialogue emerges between leather and stone, between warmth and clarity.

"We wanted the space to be a celebration of who the client is, and a place where they can tell their own story."
Mark Davis, Dasch Associates
Softness shapes the atmosphere of the living space. Two Jaan Living recamiers invite sitting and relaxation, standing in calm contrast to the stone presence of the fireplace. Lying in front, the Yungiyungi carpet defines the colour palette of the room. The side tables introduce a clear counterpoint to the soft surface. Cushions pick up the tones of the carpet and add subtle accents.

Spaces of Calm
The adjoining sleeping spaces are kept understated. A calm palette of warm natural tones, muted greens and light leather surfaces shapes the atmosphere. In the master bedroom, the Yuuto Bed is positioned to face outward, accompanied by nightstands in light leather. Art forms an integral part of the interior. A work by Australian artist Ildiko Kovacs introduces colour to the space, adding a deliberate note within the calm composition.
